after 9 ardous months...

1st test: immediate failure for not stopping at the stop sign. too freaking nervous. total points = 24
2nd test: knocked down parking pole after completing the parallel parking. urgh. total points=28
3rd test: completed circuit with ZERO points. on my way out, failed to see pedestrians coming from the rarely used pesdestrian crossing in BBDC. IMMEDIATE FAILURE. cried my heart out. total points = 22

today.
4th test: did 4 out of 7 items in the circuit. test route cut short by tester for some reason or other.

and i passed with 6 points. FINALLY.
could have kissed the tester. grin.

but i did expect to pass today. wondered how would i have felt if i failed this test and had to go for a fifth one.
even my instructor instructed me to pass and he said he dint wanna see my face again.
before the test i was checking out the safety video viewing session timing. i dint want to miss the 1240 one, or else the next available timing was at 2.45pm. i was the last person to leave the room, yet the second or the third to come back to the room. i did only parallel and vertical parking, crank course and directional change. and he told me to get out of the circuit. no mention of the slope, S course nor E brake. but given today's weather, quite hard to E brake unless he wants the car to skid.

then went onto the road.
took route 3. the tester dint remember the route he had to take me. so he asked me. i could have changed it to an easier route ya? heh. but i am an honest kid, i swear *blinks bambi eyes*.
turned onto bukit batok road towards teck whye.
turned left into CCK way. had abit of a problem changing down from 4 to 2. 2 points there.
turned right into CCK ave 1. nothing happened.
turned right into teck whye avenue. took a while to move off. 2 points there. :(
WAS supposed to turn right into teck whye lane. up the slope near the temple. tester dint say anything about turning right. go on straight and remained on teck whye avenue.
turned left out onto CCK road and drove towards the Uturn in teck whye. no incoming cars, did u turn and off i went back into the direction of BBDC.
had a stupid slow lorry in front of me. over took him. took the tester a while to realise i overtook the lorry. he turned around and mumbled to himself, "now why did you overtake that lorry.. OH the lorry is indeed slow."
all this when i was on my way back. *grumbles*

on the way back i was wondering. why on earth did i only complete 4 items in the circuit and why was my route cut short? did i commit some big immediate failure mistake that i dint realise along the way such that he took the liberty to cut short every single thing i did?
but noooo. when we went back to the room, all he merely did was flip the paper to the back, signed his name with a flourish and told me to drive safely. wheee!
so happy. bounded down the stairs to look for junjun who was patiently cross stitching. then watched the video, talked to fellow passees. waited to make my temp license, talked somemore to fellow passees. i swear i was on a high. :D
went back down to get my refund, got hold of phone and started msging every single person who knew.

somehow in the middle of the night at 3 am this morning i woke up and i couldnt get back to sleep.
started reflecting upon this blog. the reason for its exisence.
somehow in the middle of the night at 3 am this morning i felt as though all this was a waste of time and efforts.
and dint feel up for updating the blog every once in a while.

this blog has accompanied me for what, 3 years odd and it has definitely seen many of my ups and downs in the past 3 years. much more downs than ups i must say.
i did promise myself that i will never shift from this address, as the nolstalgia of this address keeps me addicted.
but somehow in the middle of the night at 3 am this morning, i had a weird idea to shift away from all these crap and move to somewhere new. somewhere hidden away where i can really put what i want.

many people come here. who exactly you are i dont know.
recently i dont blog much, as compared to my past history, as pointed out by rl.
somehow i just cant lift my fingers to type.
i stare blankly at the blinking cursor and ponder for nearly 15 minutes, before i click the mouse at some other window that i have open.
after half an hour, i come back and stare at the blinking cursor for another 15 minutes.
then its "alt F4" and off i scoot onto my bed for a nice book and read, or snuggle up in bed and watch a movie on my laptop.
i simply dont know what to write.

in the past, a mere listing of the day's events could provide the subtance i want in blogging. and i revel in it. now i grow tired of telling the audience what i did that particular day. i dont want the audience to know what exactly i've been doing these few days. somewhat hiding in the corner and refusing to come out.
maybe im stuck in a rut.

maybe its time for a new change.
a new venue.

today's expenditure was ... i dint even think of spending so much when i left the house today! shouldnt travel with my cards la..
but i do realise that after working busily ever since end of exams, i reaped the fruits and enjoy spending them :) hence i have become a little more relaxed with how i spend my money. the debit card plays a small role in inducing me to spend this way too.

this is what it means by many little things make a whole big thing.

met junhui for today. watched charlie and choc factory (again!) and we shopped a little here and there.

this is one of the rare days when i am supposed to be reading, and happened to lift up my laptop lid, wanting to blast music through my itunes through my speakers when i discover that, voila, im online in msn and internet with my internet modem out in the computer area hogged by my daddy.

which i am getting wireless on 4th sept 2005. boy my parents cant wait, cuz this means i wont fight with them for the internet modem, i have less wires at my table and i dont need to tap on my neighbour's wireless. muahahaha. ooh plus the fact that its gonna be faster, and cheaper. im surviving on 512khps now. gonna upgrade to 1500 soon :)

4th september. the day of arrival :)

two fantastic days with fantastic people!

yesterday was dimsum dollies day! met junhui and yy before that for dinner and we tried this new place which sold crepes solely at the basement of raffles city shopping centre :) twas really a nice place :D



hee we were having fun throughout the entire dinner :D and after that was dimsum dollies! we were seated at the stalls area and had a magnificent view of the stage! phwoah! brought back memories of watching mamma mia last year when we were craning out necks over the obstructed area. bahh. next time i will shell out the money and have fantastic seats, like last night in dimsum dollies. goodness the show was fantastic with the carabet like singing and jesting at singapore's weird but unique culture. had hell of a time laughing with the crowd :) and i did something rather odd.
well, i noticed that the guy next to me was sitting alone at his seat with no one to talk to, and i kinda pitied him. so i turned to him and started talking to him! wondered what he was thinking at the point in time when i befriended him. turned out he wasnt exactly watching it alone. his mum was somewhere in the crowd somewhere else cuz they bought the seats alone. and he was one colourful character i must say, having studied in malaysia, singapore and uk! i picked out his accent immediately. heh. he's only 18 and he's going NS this sept, whereas all his friends are still in j2. he must have skipped a year in the midst of studying everywhere in the world. wow. it was nice talking to him, so that he wont have felt so lonely during the show and intermission. its nice having people to talk to about the show during the show :)

then met kailyn, she bought her ipod and i bought my baby sony! my dream phone k750i for eons ever since it came out. wahhh damn cool lor. havent exactly finished exploring it yet, but i will finish exploring it by tmr :) something tells me the next thing i want to invest in, would be a sony 2GB memory stick to put my music. just pray hard that i wont ignore my baby zen. hee. i love the 2 megapix camera! silky turned out to be my model for the day when we went over to kailyn's place to help her configure her ipod. grin. and we watched national day parade in front of the tv with her dad, while eating nice nice salad! hahaha the salad was seriously very very nice, maybe cuz of the extra stuff her dad added.

this entire day has been rather surreal, changing my status from a teacher to a student within a short span of time.
today, is my last day of school. apparently alot of students either hear about it, or read from my blog and they come up to me and ask me about it. hence i find myself repeating often, yes today is my last day, i am going off to being a student again, hopefully i can come back again next year as a relief teacher AGAIN.
yes you read me right, i would like to go back to hillgrove for relief teaching again, be it adhoc or long term.
today, i must admit, i was quite lax with the discipline in both my classes 1A1 and 1E3. the kids in A1 surprisingly were well behaved, all of them sat down and did their work quietly and drawing quadrilaterals all over the paper i gave them. at the end of it, it was just a normal farewell, nothing too fanciful.
then i had a talk with the incoming teacher, ivy, who is taking over me. a rather sweet demure 22 year old lady who is not as noisy, sarcastic and witty [HAHAHA] as me. a very different young lady i must say. then i walked into 1E3. i swear, the boys in the class turned into animals overnight. i had two clowns who kept calling ms teo every 2 minutes, one particular mr peh who tried to be a teaching assistant by commenting on everything i said, and one particular bilabong donald duck who drew a bila logo on a piece of paper and gave it to me as a parting gift. but, i let them play the fools and let them enjoy themselves for one last time. and then they surprised me! check this out!

aww kids. im so gonna miss teaching life. seriously. they apologised and thanked me for the stuff that i've done for them for the past 6 weeks, and i think, they made my worries in life go away as well during class time. this is one class which had managed to make me laugh outright without being conscious as a teacher and laugh my head off at the silly antics they come up with, both guys and girls alike. the class has a very vibrant nature, mixed with many different personalities. and if i could choose, i would like to end up in a class like that as a student as well. reminded me of s36.
what sweet kids. this board is now on my wall. visitors to my room will be able to see this new addition. heh.

yeapps. finally back from asoc camp :)
i swear i am 10 times blacker than what i was before. that was about 10 hours ago, considering i reached sentosa at 7plus this morning, and time now is 4pm. goodness the sun today was so super strong. its times like this when i wish i had shades, which i feel like getting some time soon, and my adidas cap which was in my bag, which was locked away in chloe's car in the beach carpark at sentosa.
asoc camp was quite fun la, considering i spent most of the time bumming around, talking to people whom i havent met for ages or has never met before, and slacking. did menial chores here and there, also known as sai gang, and saw a couple of rg juniors whom i havent seen for a long time. people like shiyun! goodness i forgot her name but i remembered that she was my hadlian asst treasurer when i was in sec 4, and she in sec 3. and there's michelle too, rcy junior. and there's ruth too, psl junior. think got some more familar faces but i cant put names to faces. heh. but i can recognise them la. had a nice time chatting to shiyun while her group was playing dodgeball at my station :D hahaha.
last night was just dinner and nothing much.. tactical warfare only started after i left. but six of us had hell of a time laughing at lame jokes that we can remember. i mean, when you put 3 nj, 2 hcjc and 1 jj people together, all you can get is one whole loadof lamest jokes you can ever get. :D
but it felt comfortable hanging out with them la. i thought initially it would have been an awkward event.
i repeat, for the nth time, sunblock seriously doesnt work on me. even after putting on sunplay sp 130 [they are our sponsors], i am still black. black like bitumen. ARGH. i can never forget wenhui for using the word bitumen on me. BAHH.

today is daddy's birthday!

good book to recommend!
check out Jennifer Weiner's Good in Bed. i havent been able to put it down ever since i started reading the book. as usual. the book is fantastically refreshing and it talks from a "large" woman's point of view. in unpolitically correct terms, a fat woman. its downright humourous and funny throughout the entire book, and surprisingly i found myself identifying with the main character, Cannie Shapiro, when it comes to dealing with relationships. of course i cant say i fit her shoes perfectly, but there is positively events in the story for women of the twenties to identify with. of course twas a happy ending in the end for Cannie, but it was enlightenment on her part in order to reach that happy ending. Besides the point that men DO look beyond women's weight when going after them.

It was in a survey when i had read before that men are more likely to go for women based on superficial looks, whereas women take a while to understand the man's character before going anything beyond.
is it really true? AHA. you tell me.

but really, jennifer weiner is good. i wonder if she had more books after "Good in Bed". This is her first book! heh.

im quite used to coming home, enjoying a lazy afternoon slacking reading and chilling out to music. the peaceful life that i want. and of course looking forward to wednesdays and thursdays nights when there's channelu SUPERSTAR on tv. :D makes life peaceful and enjoyable. of course, cant wait for dimsum dollies next monday when i laugh my head off :) grin.

fri: last day at school, finally, this time round for real. meeting jun wanyu joycet fishball for lunch before rushing down to sentosa by 5pm for asoc camp.
sat: pushed tuition assignments for asoc camp, so i think im gonna conk out straight the minute i reach home from camp.
sunday: full day tuition :/ no choice considering there was camp 2 days before.
monday: back-to-driving lesson in the morning, hopefully deb's tuition in the afternoon before we all meet for dinner before going for dimsum dollies in the evening.

and so far, thats about it.
nothing planned from tuesday onwards, but i think it could be time i gave my ntu and nus friends a visit while school is still considered slack for them :) still thinking, so yeapps. of course, watching charlie and choc factory sometime next week. going frugal on movie tix, refuse to spend anything more than $8.50 on one tix. prolly check out SE K750i as well, cuz i should be relatively well off by then. hopefully. its gonna be my BIG SPLURGE for this set of income.
its interesting to notice how i spend my income.
for my VERY first income, i blew $400 immediately after i got my pay on my new phone in feb which barely came out for 1 week. man what a waste as the price dropped quickly after that. then i blew part of my relief teaching income last year during june on my fuji digital cam. $600 there. OUCH. then for my first tuition pay last november, i blew it on my baby zen at the creative fair. $489. OUCH OUCH. but i love my baby eons. and i guess, for this time's income, im gonna get myself a nice well worth handphone, which is the sony ericsson k750i which i've been eyeing for a long time. ever since it came out in july. early july i think. the new 3G SE phone is damn hot and sexy, but i figured i dont need a 3G phone yet and according to insiders news, if i buy a 3G phone now, i'd be paying for the research into further 3G which is something i dont want to. so yeapps, i'll stick to a tri band phone for now, one with a 2megapix camera [which could effectively render my digicam useless. mm. ] and play my mp3s as well. this phone will be mighty useful when i travel with a small bag. phone camera mp3 player all rolled into one. WAHHH i cant wait for my SE k750i. see how im lau-nuaing over it already? wahahas.

of course there was "closing time" back in the old campus at bukit timah and i stayed over with yuan in one of the level 5 gsr, and we pigged out on one box of canadian hawaiian classic and did maths at the same time! AHA. only people like us would do maths ;) was helping her with her chung cheng high prelim paper which she was doing for her tutee and we managed to rope in her friend to help out as well, and frankly speaking, he gave me quite a headache with all his new theories which i dint understand him at all. oops.
pizza giving was madness. saw loads of familar faces when i was cutting pizza. ELAINE! YIXIN! haha. pizza cutting was fantatiscally tiring, when i was cutting pizza like an automated machine with barely no space on my table. but twas nice being in the committee :)
then the next day, was SMUve! me as a sch rep, which basically just walked down with the acct balloon right behind me and holding a bunch of coloured balloons. grin. twas fun, playing around with yuan hairong sean and ron, trying to make ron&yuan let go of their ropes tied to the big accountancy balloon in hopes of seeing ron float upwards. GRIN. the fun of walking down deserted orchard road, while being crazy enough to wave and try to catch the attention of the police standing guard at the istana [YES me and sean were crazy enough to do that.] and it was damn funny to see traffic wardens holding the traffic for us despite the traffic light being green and all. super paiseh to the traffic passing by orch that day. wahahas.
then me and yuan explored the new campus by walking around and testing out the lifts, rooms and almost everything. yuan lost her wallet for one moment, but thankfully we found it at biz block. goodness the campus is hugee. we overheard someone commenting, everyone will prolly get lost on the first day of school, which lead me to comment to yixin when i saw her at vivace that we'll meet half hour earlier to prevent ourselves from becoming late. HAHAHA.

wahh twas freaking crowded la. i truly understood "sardines in a can" meant. i think it was worse than that. imagine the crowd constantly squeezing against you, trying to surge forward. goodness at one point in time i wasnt feeling too good, so i left the crowd, leaving kailyn in there to fend for herself. we were in rather strategic positions, but the nausea that hit me was prolly partly due to tiredness. wandered around the stage left right centre and found another spot. closer to DERRICK HOH WEIJIAN! ahhh SO FREAKING CUTEE.
